For the production of dimensionally accurate ceramic mouldings, each moulding blank is, after demoulding, placed on a further blank (2) of ceramic material which serves as support element. Both blanks are made of the same ceramic material. The drying, firing and therefore shrinkage process of the moulding and of the support element take place in parallel and therefore with optimum correspondence, so that a deformation or other uncontrollable behaviour of the moulding during firing is avoided. The process is suitable in particular for producing dimensionally accurate industrial ceramic mouldings, for example shaped tiles and fluted elements. <IMAGE>
