PURPOSE:To shorten length of a cross feed conveyor, by making a flexible outer cylinder, constituting a screw consisting of a blade type screw and a thread type screw and contracting the outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 61 of a cross feed conveyor 6 consists of a cylinder 61a having large diameter at the tip side and a cylinder 61b having small diameter at the root side and the outer cylinder 61 is contracted by a cylinder 63. A screw 62 consists of a blade type screw 62A and a thread type screw 62B. The spiral amounts of both a revolving shaft 62a and a revolving shaft 62b are changed so that the overlapped amount is changed to expanded the whole screw 62.
