PURPOSE:To detect both a closed loop assigned area and a smear-away assigned area by providing a first processing which detects an area section, and a second processing which obtains an area divided signal, and a third processing which detects the area section from the area section signal and the area divided signal, and a fourth processing which obtains a signal showing an area dividing prohibited section. CONSTITUTION:As for the chrominance signal O of an original, the detected part of an original color (a) is assumed to be '1', and the other part is assumed to be '0'. Besides, as for an area assigning chrominance signal P as well, the detected part of the area assigning color (b) is assumed to be '1' and the other part is assumed to be '0'. In a case that a closed loop to assign the area protrudes in the area, and a scanning is successively performed from the top of a figure (b) downward and it reaches a line (l), and the area is divided into two or more parts, the section, protruding in the area, is detected, and the signal to show said section, i.e., the area divided signal R' is generated. Then, the section of the area divided signal R' is made to be '1', and the other part is made to be '0'. Thus, even if a specified area is assigned by a smear-away, or is assigned by the closed loop, the said area can be detected at a real time. |
