PURPOSE:To prevent an elastic blade from the adhesion of developer and to secure an image of high quality over a long period by applying fine particles with <=10mu grain size to the surface of the elastic blade for applying the developer to the surface of a developing roll. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles having <=10mu 50% average weight grain diameter and >=80 deg.C melting point are applied to the surface of the elastic blade 26 having 0.001-1muRZ surface roughness for applying toner (a) to the surface of the developing roll 24 by press contact with 20-500g/cm pressure. Consequently, non-magnetic one-component toner (a) having elastic distortion due to frictional pressure from the blade can be prevented from being directly contacted with the non-contacting part of the blade with the roll 24 and the toner can be prevented from being hardened. When the grain size of toner becomes >=10mu, its charging is interrupted. Thereby, an image of high quality can be obtained over a long period. |
