PURPOSE:To obtain a heating appliance emitting no smoke without permitting oil juice or the like oozed out by heating to drip directly onto a heat source, by a method wherein the titled appliance is placed in a direction of heat rays radiated from the heat source using gas, electricity, etc., said heat rays are converted to far-infrared rays and, simultaneously, the heat source is arranged so as not to be affected by the oily juice or the like exuded from a heated object by heating. CONSTITUTION:A number of protrusions 17 are formed on the inner bottom surface of a dish-shaped member 16 and the outer bottom surface thereof is heated by gas fire or electric heat. The upper surface of the member is molded with a black- or dark-colored base material which radiates far-infrared rays in wavelength of 5mum-1,000mum by heating, more particularly far-infrared rays in wavelength of 4.5-5.5mum which can be easily absorbed by an organism such as fish, or with a glazed ceramic material. When fish 6 or the like is put on the molding and the outer bottom surface 19 of the member placed on a gas table is heated by gas fire 18, the heat of the gas fire 18 is converted to the far-infrared rays 13 and radiated from the protrusions 17, etc. The fish 6 is supported by the top ends 20 of many protrusions 17 arranged in such a manner as the knots of a net, therefore, the far-infrared rays 13 is transmitted rapidly into the fish 6 to heat it. Even if oily juice 9 dripping from the fish 6 is trapped in a dish bottom 21 among the protrusions 17, said oily juice is not burnt to emit smoke because the temperature in the dish bottom would not rise so high as the temperature of direct fire.
