PURPOSE:To miniaturize a VTR by utilizing effectively the space in a cassette mouth part by arranging electric parts on the device main body so as to locate inside the cassette mouth of a video cassette. CONSTITUTION:Sub-substrates 35, 35 are provided on one part 30A of the substrate 30 extending to a cassette mouth part 10C and a large-sized electric part is packaged as well. Namely, since this part is communicated to the space inside the cassette mouth part 10C the height of about +15mm can be taken larger compared with other parts and the sub-substrates 35, 35 can be erected or large-sized electric parts can be packaged. Also, this part is close to a rotary head drum 22, so it is much advantageous to arrange the amplifier for recording and reproducing. The space inside the mouth part can thus be effectively utilized and a VTR can be miniaturized.
