PURPOSE:To selectively harvest vegetables of head formation, by setting a cutter in such a way that the cutter is freely changed from a position to cut vegetable of head formation to a retreated position apart from vegetable of head formation and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:A cutter 5 for cutting a rhizome part of a vegetable A of head formation is set at the front side of an operator driving part of a vehicle V and a vegetable of head formation from which rhizome part is cut off is stored through a conveyor 6 in a storage part 4. The cutter 5 is constructed in such a way that the cutter is freely changed from a cut acting position protruded from the front side of traveling of the vehicle V to a retreated position placed apart from the vegetable of head formation in a state of positioning the side of the vehicle V and vice versa.
