PURPOSE:To make the supply of water remarkably easier by a method wherein a pipe whose top end is made in the form of a sharp point is provided on the upper wall of a water-reservoir and the pipe is penetrated through a rubber stopper sealing a water tank to flow the water contained in the water tank into the water-reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A water tank 7 filled with water 8 is prepared in advance and then it is inverted so that the rubber stopper 9 thereof is abutted against the top end 4a of a metallic pipe 4. When the top end 4a of the metallic pipe 4 is penetrated through the rubber stopper 9, the water 8 in the water tank 7 passes through the metallic pipe 4 to drop down into the interior of a drum 1. In this case, if the capacity of the water tank 7 is made substantially equal to the internal volume of said drum 1, the drum 1 is refilled with the water 8 on a batch basis by mounting the water tank 7 thereon. When terminals 6a, 6b are connected to an external power source and a current is made to flow therethrough to heat a heater 6, the heat is conducted to the water 8 on the periphery of a cylinder 5. Thus, the water 8 in the drum 1 is heated and turned into steam to be discharged outside from small bores 3, 3,... provided on the upper wall of the drum 1 so as to be diffused into air for humidification.
