PURPOSE:To inhibit transformation of a Cyan dye to a leuco compd. and generation of Cyan stain by bleaching a photosensitive material contg. a specified Cyan coupler with a specified bleaching agent and then treating the photosensitive material in an alkali bath having a specified pH. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material contg. >=one kind of Cyan couplers expressed by formula I or II is exposed and then developed, then desilvered with a bleaching agent consisting of >=one kind of ferric complex salt of a compd. expressed by formula III or IV. The desilvered product is further processed in an alkali bath having >=8.0pH. In formulas I, II, each R1, R2 and R4 is an aliphatic or aryl group, etc.; each R3 and R6 is H, halogen, etc.; R5 is an alkyl group; R7 is H or an alkyl group; each Z1 and Z2 is H or a group eliminable by a reaction with an oxidized body of a developing agent; n is zero or 1; each R1-R7 in formulas III and IV is H or carboxylic acid (salt), etc.; L is an alkylene or phenylene group, etc.; each L1-L7 is an alkylene group. Diammonium ethylenediamine tetraacetate, etc. are concrete examples for the compds. expressed by formulas III or IV. |
