PURPOSE:To enable an automatic reset and re-read using the small number of read sensors by applying the constitution wherein a pallet with an identification plate of binary coding with the existence and non-existence of a plurality of holes at the predetermined positions are positioned and fixed, and then the existence and non-existence of the holes are detected via the scanning of the identification plate with a hole detection sensor. CONSTITUTION:A pallet 1 with an identification plate 2 when carried to a pallet number read position, is positioned with a positioning stopper 5. Thereafter, a scanning slider 4 fitted with a reflective type optical sensor 3 for hole detection scans the identification plate 2 in a carriage direction. Light passes the holes of the plate 2 and is reflected by the blank part thereof, thereby giving a timing pulse signal. This pulse signal is read at time intervals synchronized with the pitches of hole positions and the pallet number is identified. If a hole is numbered as 1 and the blank part as 0, the identification plate 2 is identified as 011001010 from the left side. When the digits are converted into a decimal notation by a unit of 4 bits from the left, therefore, digits up to the 8th digit are enough to identify the pallet number as 65. |
