PURPOSE:To automatically assemble a V-shaped block to an endless strip by holding the V-shaped block and a stopper respectively with a block holder and a stopper holder and erecting and laying both of the holders. CONSTITUTION:A V-shaped block 2 and a stopper 3 are held at a supply position X respectively with a block holder 18 and a stopper holder 19. According to the rotation of a chain 35, the outer surfaces of the holders 18 and 19 come into sliding contact with the starting end of a sloped portion 631 of bar-like cams 601, 602, a roller of the chain 35 rides on a vertical movement cam 59, and a support table 38 is positioned. The sloped portion 631 and a slope surface 651 of plate cams 611, 612 causes both holders 18, 19 to become erected condition, and the block 2 and stopper 3 oppose each other with an endless strip 1 in between. Then, when both holders come into sliding contact with a top surface 64, both of the holders 18, 19 are pressed in the direction to close with each other. As a result, both of the engagement ends of the stopper 3 engage with both of the engagement grooves of the V-shaped block 2, and at the same time the strip 1 is held between both of the projecting parts of the block 2.
