TRANSMISSION TYPE COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain simply and inexpensively a color filter having high reliability and excellent color reproducibility by sticking a film on which a color filter for color display is printed out onto a light diffusing layer projected from a light source. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 12 and orientation films 13 are respectively arrayed on the inside of a pair of transparent base 11 arranged oppositely and nematic liquid crystal is sealed between the orientation films 13. The film 17 on which the color filter for color display is printed out is stuck to the light diffusing layer 16 formed on the surface of a polarizing plate 18 formed on the outside of one base. Light from the light source 15 is polarized through the filter 17 and reached to liquid crystal molecules 14 to execute color display by impressing voltage. Since the filter 17 is directly formed on the polarizing plate 18, the polarizing plate can be prevented from being deteriorated due to the influence of said formation and the orientation films 13 can be processed at a high temperature because the filter 17 is not directly formed also on the orientation films 13. Thus, the color filter can be simply and inexpensively obtained.
