PURPOSE:To give a silver picture image warm tone and to prevent the silver picture image from yellow discoloration during the storage of the picture image by developing a photosensitive material in the presence of a specified color toning agent and allowing a specified compd. to be present in the photosensitive material which has been treated. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material constituted of >=one silver halide emulsion layer is exposed directly, then the photosensitive material is developed in the presence of a compd. A expressed by formula I. Moreover, a compd. B expressed by formula II or III is allowed to be present in the photosensitive material which has been treated. The compd. A can be contained in the above described emulsion layer, its adjacent layer, or developing soln., and the compd. B can be contained in the above described emulsion layer, its adjacent layer, developing soln., fixing soln., water washing soln. or stabilizing soln. In formulas, Q is an atom group necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; each M and M' is H or an alkali metal, etc.; each R1-R3 is hydroxy group or amino group, etc.; each R4-R8 is H, substitutable group, etc. |
