PURPOSE:To unify approximately an abrasive sheet wear throughout by interlocking rotating and revolving mechanisms for connection to a common driving motor thereby causing the rotation and revolution of an abrasive sheet, and providing a brake device for adjusting the speed of the rotating mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A single motor is used to drive a rotating mechanism comprising a V-pulley 21, a V-belt 20, a V-pulley 19, a cylindrical shaft 4 and gears 17, 18 and 16, and a revolving mechanism comprising a gear 23, a large-bore gear 14 and projected cylindrical parts 14c and 12c. And a rotary frame 8 and an abrasive sheet 7 are made to revolve about an axial center (a), while rotating about another axial center (b), and a polishing feed device 25 is operated to press a workpiece 26 to the abrasive sheet 7, thereby polishing the workpiece 26 at a constant position. In this case, a brake device 31 is operated to set and change optionally the turning speed or rotating velocity of the cylindrical shaft 4, thereby changing the rotating speed at a constant revolving velocity. A ration of the rotating speed to the revolving velocity is changed to vary the polishing locus of the abrasive sheet 7 for the workpiece 26, thereby causing a uniform wear on the whole area of the abrasive sheet 7. |
