PURPOSE:To keep coolant always in clean condition by arranging a porous filter plate capable of forming a filter layer on its upper surface with accumulated chips for filtering the coolant below a conveyer member. CONSTITUTION:When coolant 15 containing chips 16 is supplied on a horizontal frame 3, chips 16 of a small particle size together with the coolant 15 flow down through gaps between hinge plates 21 of a conveyer member 5 to reach the surface of a filter plate 11. As the coolant 15 flows through small holes 10 of the filter plate 11 and to a coolant tank 2, chips 16 of particle sizes of 1mm or larger gradually accumulate on the filter plate 11 to form a filter layer 12. Since this filter layer 12 is formed with accumulated chips of small particle sizes, even powder-or granular-shaped chips 16 of minute sizes of 1mm or smaller can be securely filtered. As a result, the amount of the chips 16 drained to the coolant tank 2 is significantly reduced so that the coolant 15 in the tank 2 can be maintained always in clean condition. |
