CONSTITUTION:A slider 10 begins to move and signal corresponding to the displacement of said slider is inputted to a magnetic detection element pair 4 and it is judged whether magnets 12 have reached the arrangement point of the magnetic detection element pair 4 and, if not, a pulse is counted and, if they have the number of counted pulses are reset and the signal outputted corresponding to the displacement is converted to a pulse by an encoder 5 while said pulse is inputted to be newly counted. he slider 10 moves to judge whether the head magnet 12 has reached the adjusting magnetic detection element pair 4 and, if not, the number of the pulse are cumulated and operationally processed to be displayed. If it has, the present position is updated as the arrangement point of the new magnetic detection element pair 4 and reset.
