PURPOSE:To prevent production of column vibration, by a method wherein the proper number of bypass pipes through which places on the upper stream side and places on the downstream side are intercoupled are situated to a radiant pipe. CONSTITUTION:In a radiation heater device 3 having a burner 2 formed to the one side of a radiant pipe 1, the proper number of bypass pipes 4 through which places on the upper stream side (a) and places on the downstream side (b) are intercoupled is situated to the radiant pipe 1. Combustion gas from a burner 2 flows through the radiant pipe 1 from the upper stream side to the downstream side to heat the radiant pipe 1, and is exhausted through an exhaust port 5. A part of the combustion gas flows through the bypass pipes 4 to heat the bypass pipes 4, and an object is heated through emission of heat from the surface of the bypass pipes. The mode of column vibration excited in the radiant pipe 1 and the bypass pies 4 can be easily differed by properly setting the position and the length of an inlet 6 and an outlet 7 of the bypass pipe 4. The antinode of a pressure fluctuation in the one column vibration is caused to respond to the node of a pressure fluctuation in the other column vibration, and the column vibrations can be effecitively offset with each other through inlet 6 and the outlet 7 of the bypass pipe 4.
