PURPOSE:To rapidly and easily produce vapor permeable membrane by immersing porous membrane in a soln. of polymer contg. polyorganosiloxane as main component in a volatile solvent and drying. CONSTITUTION:The porous membrane such as nitrocellulose having 0.02-0.5mum pore diameter is immersed in a polymer soln. dissolving 5-20wt.% polyorganosiloxane such as polydimethylsiloxane, etc., crosslinking agent such as methyltriacetoxysilane, etc., and catalyst such as dibutyl tin octoate in the volatile solvent such as hexane, etc., and dried in the air. Thereby, a non-porous membrane is obtd., which has selective permeability of O2.
