<p>PURPOSE:To collectively execute fiber cord separation without hurting a fiber by previously separating a fiber cord over several centimeters, heating the outer coat of a tape to soften it and then setting up the opening angle of an optical fiber cord to <=30 deg.. CONSTITUTION:A fiber cord gang separator 3 consisting of a heating part 11 and a separating blade part 12 is used. The heating part 11 includes a heater 6 and the heater 6 is embedded into the separator 3 to heat the inside at 80-140 deg.C. The separating blade part has separating blades 5a-5c and the shapes and thickness of these blades are set up so that the opening angle thetaof the optical fiber cord is set up to <=30 deg.. In order to separate the optical fiber cords by using the separator 3, the outer coat 7 of the tape is removed by the range of several centimeters, the optical fiber tape is loaded to the separator 3, the blades 5a-5c are inserted among optical fiber cords 1a-1d vertically to the longitudinal direction of the tape, the tape 2 is set up so as to be positioned on the hating part 11, and while heating and hardening the coat 7, the tape 2 is slided in the longitudinal direction to separate the fiber cord.</p> |
