PURPOSE:To make an image printable without elongation and to make the distortion of the image attributed to a reverse sub-scanning preventable, by counting a line address in a frame memory in synchronism with an encoder. CONSTITUTION:If a pulse signal 109 from an encoder 102 is detected before a line thermal head thermal head 101 completes one-line printing, 1 line address 111 is counted from (n+1) to (n+3) by a line counter 105. Therefore, the data in a frame memory 103 is skipped. If a sub-scanning direction position on a plain paper is detected by the encoder 102, the data in a line address (n-1) is printed on a position (n). If the pulse signal 109 of the encoder 102 is skipped by a gate 301, a blank is generated on the plain paper. However, because the data on the frame memory 103 is also skipped corresponding to the blank, the elongation of an image can be prevented. furthermore, a distortion of an image can be prevented also in a reverse sub-scanning by a method wherein a decrement of a line address is allowed by making the encoder capable of detection also in a rotating direction. |
