The spiked conveyor belt comprises a set of parallel profiled metal components at right angles to the travel direction and with upright flexible spikes (5). The spikes are part of a component (6) of flexible material extending for the working length of the profiled component, to which it is vulcanised. The bottom of each spike is close to and alongside the profiled component, typically a bar (7), which the flexible one can enclose completely.
