PURPOSE:To provide an ignition heater which is provided with temperature detecting function, by a method wherein a pair of energizing electrodes of the ignition filament of an ignition heater are formed of metallic materials having thermoelectromotive forces different from each other. CONSTITUTION:An ignition filament 10 is securely situated, in formation where both ends are supported by a pair of energizing electrodes 20A and 20B, to a notch part 31 of an ignition heater body 30. In a pair of the energizing electrodes 20A and 20B, the former is formed of nichrome and the latter of nickel, and an ignition filament 10 is spanned across tips 21A and 21B. The ignition filament 10 employs a substance consisting mainly of platinum. When a given voltage is applied between the energizing electrodes 20A and 20B, the ignition filament 10 generates heat to ignite a combustion wick. In a state where no voltage is applied, a voltage proportioning an ambient temperature is generated between the energizing electrodes 20A and 20B. Measurement of the voltage enables detection of an ambient temperature, and the ignition heater can be provided with temperature detecting function in addition to ignition function.
