PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in the quality of a color cathode-ray tube caused by irregularity, deviation and mixing and the like in color by providing a driver for making a linear light source move in an elliptical form long in radial direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:The elliptical exposure by a linear light source 5 of an exposing device 5 itself and the elliptical exposure by the elliptical motion of the source 5 are perpendicular to each other and overlap concentrically when the source 5 is moved in an elliptical form. The exposure for the sensitive film 12 of a face panel 11 can therefore be corrected to circular shape close to a true circle. As a result, luminescent face patterns comprising plural three-colored luminescent points can always be formed accurately. It is thus possible to prevent degrading in the quality of a color cathode-ray tube caused by irregularity, deviation, mixing end the like in color.
