PURPOSE:To form a curved face with good efficiency by moving the grinding peripheral edge having a movable grinding disk curved face by its pressure- welding to both ends in the block thickness direction in order to form a curved face on the face on which the hoop for jointing the block of a metal block is mounted and the face opposing thereto. CONSTITUTION:This is what the respective one set of the disks 9, 9 for grinding are used for the right and left grooves 6, 6 of a metal block 5 and a grinding stone is used as the disk for grinding. The grinding peripheral edges 9, 9 having the concave curved face of the necessary curvature are formed in concentric annular shape on both end faces in the axial direction thereof. A pair of the respective disks 9, 9 are arranged in parallel in corresponding concentric shape at the outer side of the groove inlet side of the right and left grooves 6, 6. These disks 9, 9 sets are movable over the whole length in the longitudinal direction of the groove 6 in the arrow mark direction with respective rotatable. The forming of the curvature B' and A' on the upper end face A of the hoop amounting face of the groove 6 and the opposing lower end face B is correctly executed with good efficiency. The hoop breakdown, rupture accidents, etc., are prevented at the groove 6 through which a metal hoop is inserted.
