PURPOSE:To form a combination of sliding bodies excellent in wear resistance, etc., by providing a hard grain-containing ferrous plating layer to the sliding surface of a sliding body of ferrous member to be combined with another sliding body whose sliding part is composed of a light-alloy member reinforced with fiber reinforcement. CONSTITUTION:In the combination of sliding bodies in which a primary sliding body (cylinder block for internal combustion engine using cylinder bore as a sliding part) has a sliding part composed of a light-alloy member reinforced with fiber reinforcement and a secondary sliding body (piston ring) is composed of a ferrous member, a hard grain-containing ferrous plating layer is provided to the sliding surface of the secondary sliding body. Moreover, Fe-Co alloys and Fe-Co-P alloys are used for the ferrous plating layer, and the grains of at least one kind selected from SiC, BN, Si3N4, MoS, WC, and Al2O3 are used as the hard grains, and further, the amount and average grain size of the grains to be dispersed are regulated to 10-30% by area ratio and 0.5-10mu, respectively. In this way, the combination of sliding bodies showing superior sliding characteristics can be obtained. |
