PURPOSE:To quickly display a document number and a page number on a display device if forecast comes true, by forecasting the document number and the page number of next display candidates based on the displayed document number and page number and preliminarily transferring them to an image memory from a medium. CONSTITUTION:Image data in a frame memory is displayed on a display device 6 by operator's instruction, and processing is performed in the background while the operator confirms this data. This processing is a learning processing to determine a selecting rule of next display candidates, and document and page numbers of next display candidates for data displayed at present are calculated in accordance wit this selecting rule. Image data of next display candidates is reproduced from an optical disk 13 and is stored in an image memory 11 by the background. Since image data of document and page numbers for the next display command is prepared in the memory 11, data is supplied to the display device 6 without reproducing operation of an optical disk device 12. Thus, designated data is projected after a slight latency time.
