摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of heated coolant gas into an evaporator, by closing a check valve on the low pressure side at the time when operation of a compressor is stopped, and further closing a discharge valve means when the gas pressure is raised by introducing high-pressure coolant gas into a cylinder chamber through gaps between a cylinder and side plates. CONSTITUTION:When the operation of a compression element 4 is stopped, high-pressure coolant gas is introduced gradually into a cylinder chamber 11 through small gaps formed, for instance, between a cylinder 5 and side plates 12, 13, so that a check valve 17 on the low pressure side, disposed in an intake passage 16, is closed for preventing intrusion of superheated coolant gas into an evaporator of a refrigerating apparatus (not shown). As the pressure in the cylinder chamber 11 is raised further, pressure in a work chamber 26 of a second discharge valve means 19 is also raised to a level almost equal to the pressure in a gas chamber 25 since the intake passage 16 and the work chamber 26 are communicated with each other via a connecting passage 29. Resultantly, a valve body 24 is raised gradually upward to a position where a groove 23 of the valve body 24 is not registered with an inlet passage 20, so that the discharge valve means 19 closes the passage. Thus, it is enabled to prevent intrusion of heated coolant gas into the evaporator and its temperature rise at the time when operation of a compressor is stopped.
