<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize the constitution of the whole of a printer and to quickly print an image by setting the length of a latent image carrier so that this carrier is rotated once during two printing operations. CONSTITUTION:An endless belt-shaped latent image carrier 21 which has a width shorter than the length of a form and is intermittently run, a toner image forming means 24 which forms a toner image on the latent image carrier, a carrying means which intermittently carries the form 2 in the direction orthogonal to the running direction of the endless belt, and a transfer means 27 which transfers the toner image on the latent image carrier to the form 2 are provided. The length of the latent image carrier 21 is so set that this carrier 21 is rotated once during two printing operations. While one half in the lengthwise direction of the latent image carrier 21 is used for toner image formation and toner image transfer to the form, remaining toner on the other half of the latent image carrier is removed. Thus, the constitution of the whole of the printer is miniaturized, and the latent image carrier is effectively used to quickly print the image.</p> |
