PURPOSE:To inhibit the reaction between the seed crystal and the refractory cement by setting the seed crystal for single crystal growth to the refractory cylinder holder using a refractory cement containing the crystalline powder of the same substance as the single crystal, resulting in increased temperature limit where the seed crystal-holding mechanism can be used. CONSTITUTION:When it is set to the refractory cylinder 1 at its end, the columnar seed crystal 2 is fixed with a refractory cement 3 containing the same kind of crystalline powder as the seed crystal 2. For example, in case of a seed crystal of lithium tantalate, 0.5-20% of lithium tantalate is added to the alumina cement.
