PURPOSE:To increase the yield of products in the production of sintered ore by granulating the refractory ore in the iron ore to be used along with specified amts. of coke and quick lime powder, mixing the granulated material with the granulated material of other iron ore, coke, and quick lime, and granulating the mixture at the time of producing sintered ore. CONSTITUTION:When sintered ore for a blast furnace is produced from powdery iron ore, coke, quick lime, etc., the pulverized coke and quick lime having <=1mm size are mixed with the refractory ore in the raw iron ore to be used in the ratio shown by inequality I, and the mixture is granulated. SiO2-based ore and the whole amts. of coke and quick lime necessary for the production of sintered ore plus the coke powder and quick lime powder remaining after the granulation of the refractory ore are added to the other raw iron ore, and the mixture is granulated. Both granulated raw materials are mixed in the same mixer and granulated, and the sintered ore wherein the refractory ore is fused together when the sintered ore is produced, having excellent strength, and with the less amt. of the ore to be returned is produced.
