PURPOSE:To improve efficiency, by providing a thin sheet concentrically at the inner periphery of an oscillating body and fixing it concentrically. CONSTITUTION:The oscillating body 3 of an ultrasonic motor is constituted of an elastic body 1 and a piezoelectric body 2 while the thin sheet 7 is provided near the neutral surface of the bending oscillation of the inner periphery of the annular oscillating body 3. The thin sheet 7 is fixed concentrically by a fixture 8. A moving body 6, constituted of the friction member 4 having wear- resistant properties and the elastic body 5 is provided so as to contact the oscillating body 3. When an electric field is impressed on the piezoelectric body 2 under this constitution, the traveling wave of bending oscillation is excited in the oscillating body 3 circumferentially and the moving body 6 is driven by a friction force. When the moving body 6 begins rotary motion, the bending oscillation will never be hindered since the thin sheet 7 is sufficiently thinner than the oscillating body 3. |
