PURPOSE:To eliminate the generation of friction, heat and noise upon transmitting a power, by a method wherein magnetic poles and magnetic force are utilized to transmit rotary power between two shafts. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic force type non-contact power transmitting device is constituted so that magnets 2 are provided on the periphery of a driving wheel 1, attached to a driving shaft 5, and the magnets 4 are provided on the periphery of a driven wheel 3, attached to a driven shaft 6. Said driving shaft 5 and driven shaft 6 are arranged so that the magnets 2 and the magnets 4 are arranged in non-contact condition. According to this constitution, the transmission of power may be intercepted by moving the driven wheel 3 axially to locate it at the outside of the magnetic field of the driving wheel 1 and the power may be transmitted by locating the driven wheel 3 in the magnetic field of the driving wheel 1.
