<p>PURPOSE:To obtain (with industrial advantage) the title compound which is used as an antibacterial against gram-positive and -negative bacteria, by reaction of haloacetoamide-cephemcarboxylic acid with an alkanal and thiourea. CONSTITUTION:The subject compound is obtained by reaction of 7beta- haloacetoamide-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid of formula I (R<1> is H, substituent in cephalosporin chemistry; R<2> is H, carboxyl-protecting group; Hal is halogen) with an alkanal of the formula: R<6>CHO (R<6> is alkyl) such as propanal and thiourea.</p> |
