PURPOSE:To obtain the titled colorless and transparent polymer, having a high light transmittance, excellent heat resistance and flame retardance and useful as a material for organic glass, etc., by reacting divinylbenzene with benzenedithiol isomeric mixture while irradiating the resultant reaction mixture with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:Divinylbenzene (preferably p-divinylbenzene) is reacted with benzenedithiol isomeric mixture (preferably consisting of 50-90% p- benzenedithiol and the rest of m-benzenedithiol) in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator (preferably 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile) while being irradiated with ultraviolet rays to afford the aimed polymer having repeating units expressed by the formula.
