PURPOSE:To produce the titled high-performance element having high precision without requiring polishing, using molds consisting of a parent material comprising a super hard alloy made of WC as a main component or a cermet and forming specific thin films on the pressing face. CONSTITUTION:An upper mold 21 and a lower mold 22 are made by forming thin films 12 of tantalum boride or hafnium boride on a pressing face of a parent material 11 consisting of a super hard alloy comprising WC as a main component or a cermet comprising TiC or TiN as a main component. Then a glass element lump material 27 preheated in a furnace 210 is set through a jig 28 between the upper mold 21 and the lower mold 22 laid in a cover 211 and press molded through a piston cylinders 25 and 26 by the upper mold 21 and the lower mold 22 heated by heaters 23 and 24.
