PURPOSE:To prevent an upper glass from flawed by a lens case by providing a lens lifting mechanism in a projecting lens and separating the lens case housing the projecting lens from the upper glass at the time of moving a microfiche moving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The lens lifting mechanism is provided in the lens case 72 housing the projecting lens 71 and it is constituted in order that the projecting lens 71 can be separated from the upper glass 23 at the time of moving the microfiche moving mechanism. Since the lens case 72 providing the projecting lens 71 can be separated from the upper glass 23 by interlocking with a start key, etc., for starting a retrieval, the movement of the upper glass 23 can be executed keeping the state where its upper surface does not contact with the projecting lens 71 and the lens case 72. Therefore, the upper surface of the upper glass 23 is not flawed, so that troubles for exchanging the upper glass 23 can be saved and the expenses for exchanging it can be cut down.
