The pallet-changing mechanism on a machine tool incorporates guides acting between the pallet and parts of the latter. These guides consist of mounting bosses (20-23) with an automatic self-centring action for the pallet (1). Clamps (24-27) secures the pallet to the machine and acting in the direction in which the pallet is placed in position. There can be lifting mechanism (4) in the machine acting in this direction, with a support (17) for the pallet having lateral stops (13, 14) for the latter, which roughly align it with the bosses. ADVANTAGE - Simple, rapid, reliable and precise changeover.
