PURPOSE:To obtain the aimed compound with advantages of preventing side reaction and capable of compensating heat removing ability of a high-pressure reactor without requiring separation of a reaction solvent, by using piperidine as the reaction solvent in synthesizing piperidine by hydrogenating pyridine. CONSTITUTION:Pyridine is hydrogenated in the presence of a catalytic hydrogenation reaction catalyst, such as ruthenium, palladium or nickel, to synthesize piperidine useful as a raw material for rubber chemicals, dyes, medicines, curing agent for epoxy resins, etc. In the process, piperidine is used as a reaction solvent at 1/2-2/1, preferably about 1/1 mixing ratio (piperidine/pyridine) to advantageously afford the aimed compound. Furthermore, the amount of the catalyst used is 0.1-1wt.%, preferably about 0.3wt.% based on the total amount of the pyridine and piperidine. The reaction temperature is 120-200 deg.C, preferably about 160 deg.C and the reaction pressure is 50-100kg/cm<2>, preferably about 80kg/cm<2>. |
