PURPOSE:To obtain a picture without pattern deflection by controlling the read of a picture memory so as to compensate the quantity of camera shake. CONSTITUTION:A camera shake detection sensor 12 is fitted incorporatedly with a camera 11 mechanically. An output signal of the sensor 12 is inputted to an equivalent camera shake conversion means 14 via a subtractor 13 and converted into the shake equivalent to the compensated shake of the picture memory 16. The output of the equivalent camera shake conversion means 14 is given to the other input of the subtractor 13 and also to a picture memory read control means 15, where the data is converted into an address corresponding to the input to control the read of a picture memory 16.
