PURPOSE:To attain normal VTR recording even if a control microcomputer runs away by providing an inhibition circuit for reset resetting a system controller. CONSTITUTION:A reset pulse Pr is formed from a reset circuit 64 by the operation of a switch 71 not during the video recording of a VTR and microcomputers 41, 42 and the system controller 50 are reset to reach the normal operating state. While the VTR is in th video recording, since an output signal Sr of an output port 55 of the system controller 50 goes to 1, the forming of the reset pulse Pr is inhibited even when the signal Sp is brought to level 1 by operating the switch 71 to continue the video tape recording normally.
