PURPOSE:To detect the starting time point of corrosion in an early stage without performing the stopping of the operation and the opening of a tank and the like, to prevent accident in advance, and to shorten the working time of periodic inspection, by measuring the potential of a metal contacting a liquid through an electrode device, which indicates a constant potential with respect to the liquid, and detecting the rapid decrease in potential. CONSTITUTION:A collation electrode 5 is arranged in an electrode tank 8 filled with KCl solution. A capillary 9 such as Teflon tube is guided into a tank 2 from the tank 8. A tip part 10 of the capillary 9 is separated from a measuring point 4 on the inner wall of the tank by about 10mm.. The inside of the capillary 9 is filled up with the KCl solution in the tank 8 and waste liquid in a tank 2 and electrically conducted. A filler 11 made of ceramics and the like is arranged in the middle of the capillary 9, and the mixing of the KCl solution and the waste liquid in the tank is prevented. The potential of the tip part 10 of the capillary is approximately the same as that of the inside of the electrode tank 8. Therefore, the potential difference between the electrode 5 and the measuring point 4 provided on the inner wall 3 of the tank is measured. From the rapid decrease in potential difference, the corrosion of the inner wall of the tank can be detected. |
