<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an accident of collision from behind before its occurrence, by detecting a foot, which is detached from an accelerator pedal prior to applying a brake, through an optical sensor and turning on and off an alarm lamp so that the will of applying the brake is early informed to the driver of a following vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle provides a source 10 of light to be arranged in a suitable position of an accelerator pedal in a side part of its depression plate 4a and an optical sensor 11 to be arranged in a position opposed to the source 10 of light in the bottom surface side of a dashboard, respectively. And the vehicle, while it is in running placing a foot on the accelerator pedal, covers the source 10 of light by the foot intercepting the incidence of light to the optical sensor 11. While the vehicle, when it intends applying a brake detaching the foot from the accelerator pedal 4, receives an optical signal from the source 10 of light by the optical sensor 11 inputting its output signal to a control box 12. The control box 12 inputs further an output from a brake detecting means 24, operated being associated with a brake pedal 6, so as to turn on and off an alarm lamp 13 only for the predetermined time by the output of the optical sensor 11 and the output, having priority to its output, of the brake detecting means 24.</p> |
