The paper roll container (1) is cylindrical in shape, with an opening (20) in one end (10). The roll is held with its central hollow space in line with the opening, so that the paper strip can be pulled out from its interior through the latter. The opening contains one or more wedge-shaped edges (21), with teeth (23) on the inside in the plane of the container end.
