DRIVE METHOD FOR SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To easily display superimposed picture by reading signals of a photodiode simultaneously at a prescribed interval. CONSTITUTION:A pulse outputted by a vertical shift register 3 is used to read signals of photodiodes 1 on a 1st row and a 5th row on a horizontal transmission line 2 onto a vertical transmission line 4. Then a horizontal shift register 6 selects sequentially a select gate section 5 to output the signal charge on the vertical transmission line 4 through a signal line 7 and an output section 8. The signal at that time is displayed as a picture on the 1st row. The 2nd and 6th rows are read at the next horizontal scanning period and the similar output is applied. The processing above is repeated.
