PURPOSE:To enable a static hydraulic extrusion process in a stable condition along the whole length of a multicore structure superconductive wire by contracting the diameter of the front end member toward the front side of an extrusion billet while contracting the diameter of the rear end member also toward the front side of the extrusion billet. CONSTITUTION:After covering both ends of a tube 6 consisting of a Cu stabilized material with a front end member 7' and a rear end member 8', the Cu tube 6, the front end member 7', and the rear end member 8' are welded in an electron beam welding to form an extrusion billet 9'. The front end member 7' has a recess 7a' of a conical trapezoid form toward the tip of the billet at the rear side thereof, while the rear end member 8' has a projection 8a' with the shape same as the recess 7a', and the multiple wires 3 of the same lengths are installed inside the front and the rear end members and the Cu tube 6. The hardnesses of the front end member 7' and the rear end member 8' are set to make the mean hardness of the tube body part housing the multiple wires 3 almost at the middle of the both members, and a sudden rise of the extrusion pressure can be prevented. Consequently, a multicore structure of superconductive wire can be manufactured in a stable condition throughout the whole length.
