PURPOSE:To be able to control an oscillator so as to obtain a stable laser output sooner than the method that output is controlled by simply changing an excitation current by a method wherein an excitation current is made to flow constantly so as to obtain a thermal balance of a laser oscillator. CONSTITUTION:A laser oscillator 16 which is excited by an excitation current 17 so as to emit laser rays 10, a laser power source 15 which supply a excitation current 17 controllable, and a laser rays on-off means 14 which turns the laser rays 10 on or off are provided. A detector 12 which detects the laser rays 10 controlled on-off and a controlling means 13 which controls the power source 15 synchronous with the rays on-off means 14 through the output of the detector 12 are used to set the excitation current 17 to be the most adequate while the rays on-off means 14 is off so as to obtain the stable laser output indepently of the amount of the laser output. By these processes, an excitation current is rendered variable and an output controlling method, which is independent of the thermal effect of a laser oscillator, can be obtained. |
