PURPOSE:To maintain satisfactory printing quality for a variety of printing media, dispense with trial printing and improve operating performance by providing a printing media identification device to control a printing medium and automatically optimize the printing system of electronic photography. CONSTITUTION:If a printing medium, transported by a feed roller 15, reaches a sensor 3 installed in a transport path of a feed side from a transfer device, the sensor 3 identifies the printing medium, and an identification signal is entered into a main control part 1 from a printing medium identification part 2. A print density signal corresponding to the printing medium is transmitted to a printing system control part 4 from the main control part 1 to permit the main control part 1 to control the exposure value and time of a light exposure device 6, a developing device 7 and toner charge voltage, and the voltage of a transfer device 8. In this manner, toner is transferred to the printing medium arriving at the transfer device 8 in an optimum printing density, then the printing medium is caused to pass through a fixing device 11, and paper is discharged. |
