PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a black processing means to enable easy UCR control by employing two comparators and a logic circuit which controls output signals from these comparators. CONSTITUTION:YMC density signal which is output from a density conversion means 2 and signal K which is output from a minimum value detection means 3 become input to the first selector 6, and are output as a signal X according to the sequential order of areas Y, M, C, K against a digital printer. Signal X and nXn dither matrix 8 are compared by the first comparator 9 to produce a pseudo-half tone output which corresponds to 0% of UCR. In the meantime, a signal Z of the second selector and the nXn dither matrix 8 are compared by the second comparator 10 to produce a pseudo-half tone which corresponds to a UCR value. Output binary signal from these comparators 9, 10 are controlled using a NOT element 11 and an AND element 12. When an output from the second comparator 10 is turned OFF, the output from the first comparator 9 is recorded in a digital printer 13 to output a color duplication of black print having beta% of UCR. |
