PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a thermal transfer printer by changing the feed speed of a thermal head and allowing the ink of an ink ribbon to be transferred to recording paper and the ink transferred to the recording paper to be shifted to the ink ribbon by a difference in contact time between the ink ribbon and the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Heat is transferred to an ink ribbon 4 from the heat-generating part 3a of a thermal head 3, and the contact time between the ink ribbon 4 and a recording paper 2 is selectively changed to be long or short until the ink ribbon 4 is separated from the recording paper 2. Consequently, the adhesion of ink to the recording paper 2 and the separation of ink adhering to the recording paper 2 occur easily and securely. Thus a special mechanism as seen in the conventional thermal transfer printer is not required, and as result, the constitution of the thermal transfer printer becomes simple with cost saving achieved. |
