PURPOSE:To easily identify an object picture even in case picture data has no color density difference by using the color picture data separated into R, G and B and adding the prescribed weighting to the color picture data for execution of a color filtering process. CONSTITUTION:The picture signals received from a color TV camera 1 are inputted to a picture processor 2 and separated into R, G and B data by a picture input part (c). These separated data are stored in a picture memory (e). The picture data stored in the memory (e) undergoes a filtering process at a picture processing part (d) via a two-dimensional local memory and a local parallel arithmetic part for acquisition of the two-dimensional data. The luminance components Pr, Pg and Pb are extracted out of the R, G and B data stored in the memory (e) by the part (d) and inputted to an arithmetic unit. At the same time, the proper load coefficients Ur, Ug and Ub are stored in a load coefficient memory against the R, G and B data respectively. The arithmetic unit calculates the gray scale value from those luminance components and load coefficients and outputs it.
